The Toronto Blue Jays announced that they have hired a new coach in Jacob Caples who will be joining the organization as a hitting coach.
The Blue Jays surrounding staff has seen quite the turnover in the off-season despite manager John Schneider and GM Ross Atkins keeping their jobs, the majority of the staff in 2025 will be new.
The Blue Jays hire Jacob Caples as their new hitting coach
Yesterday afternoon it was announced on social media by Jacob Caples himself that he has accepted a position within the Toronto Blue Jays organization as a hitting coach.
I've accepted a hitting coach position within the Toronto Blue Jays Organization. Thankful to @SAUBaseball and Coach Pettigrew for giving me the opportunity to be a part of an incredible program!
There is not a ton of information regarding Caples but he is coming from the University of Southern Arkansas where he was an assistant coach with the Muleriders baseball team.
There has yet to be an announcement as to where within the Blue Jays organization Caples will be starting the 2025 season but it looks like it will be somewhere in their minor league system.
After being ranked near the bottom of the MLB in terms of farm system rankings, a change for the Blue Jays staff in their minor league system was much needed and hopefully it will pay off in 2025.
While most fans were hoping to see either Atkins, Schneider or Mark Shapiro gone this off-season, it will be good for the team to at least see some kind of turnover this off-season.
Hopefully these new hirings will end up helping the team this upcoming season.
