The Toronto Blue Jays are amongst the top teams to land free agent Alex Bregman and it looks like they have raised their offer.

The Blue Jays are still looking to bring in at least one to two solid hitters to improve their batting lineup for next season and it looks like Bregman might be part of the solution.

The Blue Jays have raised their offer for free agent Alex Bregman

The Blue Jays have been linked to Bregman on numerous occasions this off-season and most recently was said to have made him an offer worth around $189 million over a six year term.
According to the most recent report, the Blue Jays have apparently now raised that offer as they are the top team on the table at an incredible $196 million as of this afternoon.
While this is the case, there are more teams that could have interest in a player of Bregman's caliber than just Boston and Detroit. FOX Sports' Rowan Kavner predicted that the Toronto Blue Jays will win the sweepstakes for Bregman with a whopping $196 million deal. -McAvoy

Most believe that Bregman might not be worth the $200 million he is seeking but clearly the Blue Jays offer at $196 million is likely the closest he will end up getting to his target.
"I don't feel particularly confident that either player reaches the $200 million mark, though Bregman certainly has the better chance," Kavner said. "At 30 years old, he's still a terrific defender who packs 20-plus homer pop with elite plate discipline. And now that a reunion in Houston appears out of the question, the possibilities are numerous. -McAvoy

While many fans believed that the Blue Jays would be wasting their time with Bregman as his game has been on the decline, he seems to be their final shot apart from Anthony Santander who's deal is also up in the air.
If Atkins can somehow land both Santander and Bregman this off-season with at least one solid pitcher, the 2025 season might be salvageable.
