The Toronto Blue Jays front office has stated that their as happy with their current catcher set up even if it only seems to includes Alejandro Kirk but if they end up changing their mind, there are a few incredible catchers available.
While Ross Atkins has mentioned that brining in a catcher is not on their list of priorities for the off-season, it should possibly something to looks at since their a quite a few solid catchers available.
The most talented catcher set to become a free agent is Padres Kyle Higashioka who is 35 years old but after hitting career highs across the board could be a great addition offensively and defensively.
Higashioka is aging like a fine wine. He had the best offensive season at age 34, posting career-highs in homers, RBI, and OPS. 2024 stats: .220/.263/.476, 17 HR, 45 RBI, 74 SO, 15 BB (84 games) -Leger
Another solid option is Braves catcher Travis d'Arnaud who is also older at 36 years old but has a consistent bat that could help the Blue Jays with their offensive struggles.
Travis d'Arnaud's age shouldn't dissuade teams from vying for his services should Atlanta decline his club option. The veteran stands out in a weak catcher free-agent class with his consistent bat. There are better defensive backstops, but few catchers offer the same offensive upside. -Leger
Finally there is former Blue Jays catcher Danny Jansen who is coming off of an off year split between the Blue Jays and Red Sox but as he is familiar with their lineup and pitchers, he could be a great addition for a low price.
His stock is low heading into free agency, but that could set up a bargain deal that pays dividends down the line for a catcher-needy club. -Leger
There are also other options such as Gary Sanchez and Carson Kelly that could help the Blue Jays in terms of catchers, while the list of free agent catchers is not the deepest it has ever been, these options could definitely pair better with Kirk than Heineman.
