In the midst of a chaotic second half of the winter for the Toronto Blue Jays, MLB pipeline revealed that the Blue Jays have two prospects that are in the top 100 in Major League Baseball.
This improved picture is welcomed as earlier this week it was revealed from Baseball America that they only had one prospect in the top 100. It's a modest gain but a gain nonetheless.
Toronto Blue Jays Top 10 Prospects
Blue Jays prospects are in lower tier of top 100
MLB pipeline states that the Blue Jays have a young infielder and a right-handed pitcher both in the high 80s of the rankings.Young infielder Arjun Nimmala checks in at No. 87 while right-handed pitcher Trey Yesavage is right behind him at No. 88. - Brady Farkas Fastball on SI
Baseball America listed left-hander Ricky Tiedemann as the 100th best prospect but he has been dealing with injuries for most of last year.
Trey Yesavage - #88 (Blue Jays #1) The Blue Jays #1 prospect seems to fall in too low at #88. With 60 grades on his FB, Curve, & Splitter, Yesavage should be able to tear through the Toronto system. A workhorse at ECU, he should rise higher in this Top 100.
Both prospects listed are first round picks where Nimmala is 19 years old and had a .232 batting average and hit seventeen home runs and had nine stolen bases.
Yesavage was chosen in 2024 in the first round but has not pitched professionally and will likely have his chance in Dunedin this season.
Ross Akins working to improve on the field and in the prospects pool
This offseason certainly has not gone according to plan for Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins as he had struck out several times on prominent free agents. With the offseason closing and spring training on the horizon, Atkins is looking at the secondary list of free agents to potentially sign including Pete Alonso formerly of the New York Mets.

There is a possibility that he may be opened to trade which could also help him improve his prospect pool as he could acquire a few prospects along the way which would help bolster the Blue Jays development.
It remains to be seen on how the Blue Jays will handle the remainder of the offseason but with hope of potential players signing with the team, it would be wise to continue to improve their prospect pool especially if the team is not as successful as they hope.
