The Toronto Blue Jays currently have a full 40 man roster but are still looking to sign players which means that they will likely look to release pitcher Zach Pop.
The Blue Jays roster is full but they are still missing a few key players such as another solid hitter and at least one starting pitcher which is why they will surely be releasing at least a couple players from their 40 man roster before Spring Training.
The Blue Jays will look to get rid of relief pitcher Zach Pop
Relief pitcher Zach Pop is coming off an incredibly rough season in 2024 as he finished with a 5.59 ERA, 2-4 record and 33 strikeouts in 48.1 innings while also getting sent down to Triple-A on numerous occasions.

However, Pop followed that up with two of his absolute worst years in the majors by compiling a 6.59 ERA, 67 ERA+ and 1.24 WHIP in an injury-ravaged 2023 season, and a gaudy 5.59 ERA, 73 ERA+ and 1.32 WHIP despite getting ample opportunities to play and get his game back on track in 2024. -Eng
Pop is by far the Blue Jays biggest liability in the bullpen and can easily be replaced but since he has no minor league options left, they will likely designate him for assignment but the chances of him getting picked up by another team are slim.
Since he has no minor-league options remaining, Pop will be the most likely candidate to be designated for assignment in response to the next move that the Jays make in the not-so-distant future. -Eng
As the Blue Jays continue to struggle signing players this off-season they need to find a way to bring in players even if they are not top tier free agents because having players on
Pop's caliber on the team will only hurt them.
The Blue Jays still have some time left before the off-season ends and the board still has some solid players on it such as Anthony Santander and Jack Flaherty but Ross Atkins needs to find a way to convince them to come to Toronto.
The off-season has gone terribly for the Blue Jays but if they can at least land Santander and a solid pitcher, it could end up being salvaged.
Hopefully Atkins can figure out a way to get a few deals done that will improve the team before the start of Spring Training.
