The Boston Red Sox are having some serious issues with Rafael Devers after they acquired third baseman Alex Bregman and Devers told the media he has no plan on playing anywhere else than third base.

Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins made it clear a couple weeks ago that if any big moves were to be made before the start of the 2025 season, it would likely come through a trade.

The Blue Jays could end up going after Raphael Devers after issues with thhe Red Sox

The Red Sox signed third baseman Alex Bregman to a deal last week which has now caused some issues at Spring Training as they already have Rafael Devers at third base.
Reporters asked Devers if he would be willing to be a designated hitter or to play another position than third base to which he clearly stated that he has zero interest in any of that.
Rafael Devers was adamant that third base is his position. When asked if he'd be open to being the DH, he gave a simple no.
Rafael Devers was adamant that 3B is his position. He said he would not DH or play 1B if asked. Wouldn't rule out asking for a trade if they make Bregman the 3B, said he's open to conversations moving forward but it sounds like he's made up his mind.
Clearly things do not look good in Boston and Devers would be a perfect fit for the Blue Jays as they are in need of a third baseman and with Vladimir Guerrero Jr possibly not coming back next season, he could bring in some much needed offense.
If the Blue Jays were to make an offer for Devers, they would likely have to give up quite a bit such as at least two of their top prospects as Devers is a clear superstar in the MLB.
Last season with the Red Sox, Devers finished with 28 homeruns and 83 RBIs including a .272 batting average and .354 on base percentage.
