When it comes to nailing down your Opening Day rosters, it can sometimes prove to be an impossible task. Overall, the organization sees a plethora of talented players enter the fold during Spring training. Some are able to set the tone, while others tend to struggle. There is no margin for error, and even if you have some respectable stats, you will be sent down to Triple-A. Unfortunately, that is what happened to Zach Pop, who is headed to Buffalo alongside Rodriguez.
The 27-year-old right-handed pitcher has played three seasons in Major League Baseball. He has split this time between the Miami Marlins and the Blue Jays. With the Blue Jays last season, he recorded one win and one loss. This was done alongside an ERA of 6.59. In Spring training, he had one loss on his record and an ERA of 4.91. Although he might be going to Triple-A, he still has an opportunity to impress and get himself back on the squad. It's a long road ahead, but one that he will likely face head on.
Tomorrow, Thursday, March 28th, the Toronto Blue Jays will be opening their season against the Tampa Bay Rays. This will be the start of a long and strenuous road trip that will last all the way until April 8th.
