Overall, the Toronto Blue Jays are closing in on what could be a promising season. Although the team was disappointed with a Wild Card exit in 2023, the squad looks to be poised for a huge run. However, that is not the only thing the organization is worried about right now. The Rogers Centre has a ton of hot dogs to sell, and they are hoping fans are able to break new records with their consumption.
In case you didn't know, every single Tuesday, the Toronto Blue Jays have "Loonie Dog Nights" at the Rogers Centre. This means hot dogs are just $1 and every person is allowed up to four dogs. Considering just how much money food can be at concessions these days, this is a fantastic deal. Consequently, the Blue Jays are expecting fans to agree. Last year, fans consumed a grand total of 693,865 hot dogs. However, this is not enough. In 2024, the team wants to see fans eat over 700,000.
With 81 home games, the Blue Jays are hoping to sell about 8,641 hot dogs per game. With an average attendance of around 37,000, this means at every game, 1 in 4 fans needs to buy a hot dog. This is a pretty tough task, but it can certainly be done, especially if some fans find themselves channeling their gluttonous side. Regardless, this is a pretty cool deal for fans, especially when you consider what a hot dog might cost you on any other night of the week.
The Blue Jays will be starting their season out on a huge road trip. However, on Tuesday, April 9th, they will get to play at home against the Seattle Mariners. This will be fans' first opportunity of the season to cop themselves some $1 hot dogs. Hopefully for the Jays, fans are able to come through in a big way.
