Toronto Blue Jays pitching prospects Sem Robberse and Yosver Zulueta have been selected to represent the organization at the All Star Futures Game to be held in Seattle on July 8 as part of the MLB All Star weekend.
Robberse, the Blue Jays 8th ranked prospect, has been pitching for AA New Hampshire this season. In 14 starts, he has logged 67.1 innings and recorded 66 strikeouts. He also has a WHIP of 1.19 and an ERA of 4.54. It would not be a surprise to see Robberse promoted to Buffalo at some point this season.
Zulueta, ranked 3rd amongst Jays prospects, began the season as a starter in AAA Buffalo this season but after his first 6 games, he has been transitioning to a bullpen roll. The 25 year old possesses an electric fastball but has had some issues with control, having issued 63 BB in his 93 IP this season. But he has also put up 126 SO and has been able to minimize the damage against him to an ERA of 3.97. Zulueta is on the Jays 40 man roster and may yet find his way to the Toronto bullpen this year if a need arises.
The MLB All Star Futures Game will take place Saturday, July 8, at 7 p.m. ET at Seattle's T-Mobile Park.
