The Toronto Blue Jays have been in talks with free agent Pete Alonso for quite some time and it looks like he is quite interested in joining the Blue Jays.

The Blue Jays have apparently made at least one offer to Alonso which is a three year deal worth $75 million but there have been rumors that they have since made a second offer that is slightly higher.

The Alonso sweepstakes seem to have come down to two teams which are the Blue Jays and New York Mets but so far it looks like Toronto has the biggest offer on the table as the Mets have offered a three year deal worth between $68-70 million.
"The final amount that he turned down in that final offer was more than $70 million"

says talks between Pete Alonso & the Mets broke down after an offer of $68-$70 million and a disagreement over deferred money

Is it still on the table? "I don't think anyone knows"
According to reports, Alonso has made it clear to the Blue Jays that he is interested in joining the team and is ready to start a new chapter in his career after spending the last six years in New York.
"My sense is there's real interest there from the Blue Jays [in signing Pete Alonso] and from my read that I have on the situation, Alonso would probably be okay with coming here. I think he is open to coming here."

While reports have come out that the Blue Jays are still not close to finalizing a deal with Alonso, it seems promising that he is interested in coming to Toronto and it is a plus that they have the highest offer on the table.
Fans are praying that they finally close a deal with a Scott Boras client after how things have gone in the past with Corbin Burnes, Shohei Ohtani and Juan Soto.
