During a recent interview, former MLB executive Jim Bowden spoke of what he believes will be the Blue Jays final offer to Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

The Blue Jays have been in negotiations with Guerrero for quite some time regarding his contract extension but continue to fail on an agreement as they have yet to put in an offer over $400 million which is at least $50 million less than he is looking for.

Former MLB executive Jim Bowden recently stated in an article that the Blue Jays last offer to Guerrero which was at $340 million is far from being enough as he would get much more of the free agent market next off-season.
Bowden stated that a realistic offer to Guerrero to get a deal done would be around $477 million over 12 years which would pay the Blue Jays superstar $39.75 million per season.
Guerrero said last month that he'd turned down a Blue Jays offer of around $340 million, and although that's a big number, it's not even close to what he'd get in free agency. Big-market teams like the Yankees, Mets, Red Sox and Rangers could be looking at him next fall if he's about to hit the open market, and the Blue Jays don't want to get into a bidding war with them if they can prevent it.

So, to the Jays and Vladdy, how about a 12-year, $477 million extension? Does that get it done for both sides? -Bowden

If the Blue Jays raised their offer to $477 million like Bowden suggested, they would clearly get a deal done but it comes down to if the Blue Jays believe Guerrero is worth that much.
According to recent reports, the Blue Jays and Guerrero have been progressing in their negotiations but have yet to come to a solid agreement just yet.
Rumors came out earlier this week that the two sides were moving toward a deal, but nothing has officially happened yet. -Farkas

If the Blue Jays are serious about keeping Guerrero, they need to get a deal done soon as the deadline of Spring Training is coming quickly.
