One of the Toronto Blue Jays top free agent targets has been stolen away as former GM Alex Anthopoulos signed him to a three year deal with the Atlanta Braves.
Alex Anthopoulos steals Jurickson Profar from the Blue Jays
The Blue Jays missed out on another one of their top free agent targets this off-season which seems to be the story of the winter with Corbin Burnes, Juan Soto and Max Fried all signing elsewhere.
News broke yesterday night that the Braves signed Profar to a three year deal worth $42 million over a three year contract which will pay Profar $14 million per season with the Braves.
Jurickson Profar's deal with the Braves is for three years and $42 million, sources said. He'll join Michael Harris II and Ronald Acua Jr. to form one of the game's best outfields. Braves had been quiet all winter, but Profar is a big get.

This would have been clearly an incredible deal for the Blue Jays if they were able to sign Profar to this exact contract as $17 million for what he brings to the table is an incredible deal.
Profar had a great season in San Diego last year as he finished with 24 homeruns, 85 RBIs, a .280 batting average and .380 on base percentage which would have been great to add to the Blue Jays lineup.
The Blue Jays now have to make sure they close a deal with Alonso as it is their last shot at closing a big time hitter this off-season.
