Fangraphs, has revealed a new projection for Major League Baseball and the Toronto Blue Jays and it's showing that this offseason has been an utter failure and has not given the Blue Jays a favorable rating for this upcoming season playoff hopes.
Possible trade coming soon? Who do you think the Blue Jays should add via the trade market? Personally, I think we need a lefty arm who can provide some length
It became clear the general manager Ross Atkins has not done enough to the Blue Jays roster to give them a good chance of postseason hope as the team has not acquired sufficient upgrades especially in their offence to compete against the New York Yankees, Baltimore Orioles and the rest of the American League East.
Several moves made by Atkins will help the Blue Jays
If you need a refresher on Atkins' offseason accomplishments, the Blue Jays added Gold Glove second baseman Andrés Giménez and reliever Nick Sandlin in trade with the Cleveland Guardians, signed former Blue Jays draft pick Jeff Hoffman to handle ninth-inning duties and added slugging outfielder Anthony Santander to the middle of the lineup.
They even convinced future Hall of Famer Max Scherzer to join the rotation. Michael Fisher Jays Journal
The proven winner wants to win again
It was reported for the past couple of weeks that the Blue Jays we're very close to signing Pete Alonso who chose to stay with the
New York Mets on A2 year deal worth $54 million.
Alex Bregman, is still in the wind as he has not made his decision on which team he wants to sign for, but the Blue Jays have a six year deal on the table.
Too many misses this offseason for free agency and the Blue Jays
It became a repeating story that the Blue Jays were considered finalists for several prominent free agents including
Juan Soto,
Pete Alonso and Roki Sasaki.
For whatever reason, this Blue Jays management team was unable to get the job done and were left stranded.
Anthony Santander is a Toronto Blue Jay.
In terms of making the playoffs, the Blue Jays' playoff odds sit at 37.6 percent - the fifth-lowest in the American League.
They're given a 25.8 percent chance to grab one of the three Wild Cards and an 8.8 percent chance to secure the top spot in the AL and earn a bye through the Wild Card round. And, unfortunately, they have just a 2.1 percent chance of winning the World Series. Michael Fisher Jays Journal
Once Bregman makes his decision, the Jays will need to move on from their offseason and prepare for Spring Training and hope that the additions they did make could help their odds even though it appears that they have a mountain to climb.
It's safe to say that it's a long baseball season and that anything can happen no matter which team fans follow.
