Minnesota Twins sign former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher
Former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Richard Lovelady who was released last week has signed a new deal with the Minnesota Twins.
The Blue Jays released Lovelady last week after he was DFA'd and option to Triple-A which is when he was asked to be released and return to being a free agent to get another chance at the majors.

The Twins announced yesterday that they agreed to terms on a minor league deal with former Blue Jays pitcher Richard Lovelady on a minor league deal as they have already assigned him to their Triple-A affiliate team.
As per Zone Coverage reporter Theodore Tollefson, the Minnesota Twins have signed Richard Lovelady to a minor league deal, and the left-hander has been assigned to triple-A St. Paul. -Shushkewich
The Blue Jays signed
Lovelady to a minor league deal this off-season but after multiple injuries in the bullpen, he was named to the roster for Opening Day.
Lovelady signed a minor league deal with the Toronto Blue Jays this past winter, and the southpaw went into training camp looking to secure a spot in the bullpen for Opening Day. After posting a 6.48 ERA through eight outings in Dunedin, the Jays decided to keep the veteran reliever on the roster and let Ryan Yarbrough walk, drawing criticism from the fan base. -Shushkewich
Unfortunately for Lovelady, he got into a few games with the Blue Jays and things went quite poorly as he struggled in the two games he appeared in which led to him being DFA'd.
The Georgia product appeared in two games that opening weekend for the Jays and struggled mightily with his command. -Shushkewich
Lovelady will now have to find a way to battle back from the minors in Minnesota to try and land a spot back in the majors.
