The Toronto Blue Jays are set to wrap up their season on Sunday as the off-season will reportedly begin with a possible major trade involving the Oakland Athletics.
According to reports, the Blue Jays do not see Rookie Spencer Horwitz fitting into their lineup next season despite him having an incredible rookie season for them this year and proving he can be a dominate player in the MLB.
This has caused a lot of speculation that the Blue Jays might look at moving him this summer as they are attempting to make some big moves to put out a solid baseball team that can actually compete next year.
Insider Arden Zwelling said that he could see Horwitz heading to the Athletics in a trade that could have the Blue Jays acquire former all-star outfielder Brent Rooker while also signing Ha-Seong Kim on a 6 year, $115 million deal.
"I'd love to see them acquire Brent Rooker from the A's with a package headlined by Spencer Horwitz, and then turn around and sign Ha-Seong Kim for 6/115."

This could be a nice deal for the Blue Jays who are looking to improve their outfield but at the same time could see them lose an incredible rookie in Horwitz who clearly has a bright future in the MLB and could be a star for the Blue Jays next season.
Fans agreed that getting Rooker from the Athletics would be great but giving up Horwitz would also suck as he has proven to be a fan favorite and a great player this season.
If he's not able to play 2B, and every indication is that he can't, then you trade him. He's not impactful enough to be a 1B/DH.
The reasoning behind the trade seems to be that Horwitz cannot be used at second base which is what they need right now.
