Oakland A's head groundskeeper breaks down saying goodbye to his life's work

As the Oakland Athletics said goodbye to the city of Oakland and the coliseum when they played their final game against the Texas Rangers, it is time to pay homage to the people and staff who made it all possible.

In a super powerful photo that is now going viral on social media, the head groundskeeper for the Oakland A's Clay Wood broke down as he took his final steps on the field as he has been taking care of those duties for the past 31 years.
Due to the relocation to Las Vegas, he announced he will also be retiring and many more have lost their jobs.

This was Clay's 31st and final season with the club. Hundreds of others will lose their jobs.

Many fans have taken to social media to comment on the photo to tell their favorite stories of going to the Oakland Coliseum and how heartbreaking it is to see their favorite team leave.
The Athletics are moving to Las Vegas, that is confirmed, but they are still 3-years away from that big moment all fans are waiting for. There was a lot of speculation on if they will keep the team name or not, and they will indeed now be called the Las Vegas Athletics. the stadium is set to be finished by 2028.
With no stadium to play in until then, the A's will play the 2025-2027 seasons at Sutter Health Park, their Triple-A ballpark located in Sacramento.
