The Toronto Blue Jays have enjoyed the opening weeks of their new season they have gone 12-8 in the standings but their fan base has been annoyed with Major League baseball's viewing policy has Apple TV continues it's new partnership with the league.
Last night's game against the Seattle Mariners was viewed only on Apple TV which many Toronto Blue Jays fans do not have and prevented them from seeing the team on television or the ability to stream.
New partnership between MLB and Apple gives Toronto more appeal
Major League Baseball decided to negotiate separately with Apple to make this deal come true as the Blue Jays have given exclusive rights to certain games with the streaming service.
It's also noted that on the business aspect side, the fact that the Toronto Blue Jays are the only Canadian team in Major League Baseball which gives Apple TV the entire country access to those rights, has been deemed very lucrative.
Apple along with other streaming services have begun to experiment with live sports as millions of viewers watch their sports through conventional television which has been subsiding with the rise of streaming services.
Tonight's Mariners vs. Blue Jays game can be seen exclusively on Apple TV+ Fans can still listen free across the Sportsnet Radio Network and on the Sportsnet app
Many fans are not interested in investing into streaming services
While some Blue Jays fans are willing to make the investment into streaming services like Apple TV to watch the baseball game, many fans are simply not interested as they would rather remain with the same service, they've been using for the past several decades which is conventional television and Sportsnet.
Many fans are realizing that times are changing and that streaming services will continue to rise within the sports community, and it may come a point where they would need to subscribe to these services in order to watch their team.
Meanwhile, the Blue Jays won their opening game of their new series against the Seattle Mariners by a score of 3-1.
Game 2 will take place tomorrow at Rogers Centre April 19th and game time will be 3:07 PM eastern.
