Since 2021, if you threw a fastball to Vladdy, it was getting crushed for a homerun or an extra base hit. Starting in 2022 and especially this season, the youngster is struggling more than he ever has with fastballs. It shows there is a bigger problem than expected.

"Vlad used to clobber four seam fastballs but he's fallen off tremendously since 2021, and its ruining the #BlueJays."
Vladimir Guererro Jr. hit .383 with 21 homers in 2021, where it seemed that not a single fastball was safe to be thrown to him. Since then, he has taken a massive step back in his ability to hit the fastest pitch in baseball.
He went from being the second best fastball hitter to rank 154 in the Major League.
This is season he is hitting .208 with a violently bad whiff rate of 34%. This marks a major issue with either his confidence or swing. The question has to be asked if he should be sent down for assignment to find what has been missing
