Kevin Kiermaier wastes no time as he launches his first home run of the season following his return from the IL, helping the Blue Jays secure a 6-3 win against the Nationals.
"I'm Back" - @KKiermaier39
Kiermaier's home run came off a hanging curveball and as a great fastball hitter, he has had issues in the past with breaking balls. When asked about his approach that resulted in a long-ball he said this:
"He throw's a lot oof off speed and I was looking for that, he put it in a good spot and I put a good swing on it. It was a big insurance run for us."
It is exactly what the Blue Jays need right now as offense is clearly not their strong suit. If KK can help at the bottom of the lineup it can ease the pressure off the struggling stars. Any offensive production right now is key.
