Genesis Cabrera admits he overreacted during Jose Caballero brawl
Genesis Cabrera and Jose Caballero found themselves in a heated altercation during Saturday's game between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Tampa Bay Rays. In the end, Caballero got the last laugh as his Rays came through with a 5-1 win.
The altercation started when Caballero was rounding the bases and ran towards third. Although he was tagged out, he ended up running into Cabrera. It was an innocent accident, although Cabrera was not happy. This led to a shoving match where the Cabrera put his hands in Caballero's face. The two players were separated and the benches eventually cleared.
After the game, Cabrera spoke to reporters about what happened. In the end, he admitted to overreacting. Moreover, he claimed that he has no issues with Caballero. As for a potential suspension, he is hopeful that won't happen. It should be noted that he was ejected from the game after shoving Caballero.
"Cabrera on incident with Caballero: 'I think kind of overreact a little bit. I mean, he kind of looked at me and I just reacted.' Cabrera said there's no history there with Caballero. He's not worried about a potential suspension."
