The Los Angeles Dodgers announced their roster for the World Series yesterday morning prior to game 1 of the World Series and former Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier unfortunately was left off of the roster.
Kiermaier was traded to the Dodgers at the trade deadline after announcing that this would be his final season since the Blue Jays front-office wanted to give him one last shot at winning a World Series which is exactly what they did.
Kiermaier, 34, announced his intentions of retiring at the end of the season at the end of July. «This is it, 2024 is it for me,» Kiermaier said at the time. «This next week will be very interesting But this will be my last year playing. I'm going to give it my all the rest of the year regardless of what situation I'm in. But my body is talking to me now more than ever.»
Unfortunately, since Kiermaier will not get to play in the World Series, his playing days are officially over but there is still a chance for him to win a World Series if the Dodgers can beat the Yankees as they are now up 1-0 in the series.
Despite not getting to play in the World Series, Kimeraier has had an unbelievable career as one of the best defensive centerfielders to play the game and will have quite the career to look back on.
