Toronto Blue Jays Anthony Santander went back to familiar surroundings to hit his first home run as a Blue Jay when the team took on his old organization the Baltimore Orioles.

Known as a slow starter for offense, Santander called out his former team's home crowd by reminding them how well he can hit a home run as he helped the Blue Jays go up 3-0 against the Orioles.

Celebration cut short as day when on for Blue Jays

Despite breaking his home run slump, the Blue Jays found themselves chasing the game after leading the Orioles 3-0 until the 5th inning for the Orioles scored two runs and then scored three in the bottom of the sixth which put the game out of reach for the Blue Jays.

The Blue Jays ended up losing the game 5-4 as the Jays scored a late run at the top of the 7th inning.
Many Blue Jays were ecstatic for Santander after he hit the home run as many in the organization and in the dugout felt the weight on his shoulders as he attempted to break out of his offensive gridlock.
Through 58 at bats this season, Santander has hit one home run with three RBI's and has a batting average of .190 including an OBP of 2.88 and an OPS of .547.

Blue Jays expect Santander's offense to arrive in the coming days

Now that he has hit his home run, many in the Blue Jays coaching staff and, in the dugout, feel that he will snap out of his power outage and begin to give the numbers that the Blue Jays hope he will bring as they signed him to a five-year deal worth $92.5 million.
Last season through 595 at bats, he hit 44 home runs with 102 RBI while hitting an average of .235 along with an OBP of .308 and an OPS of .814.

The Blue Jays were forced to postpone their game with their opening game of the series against the Orioles which will be rescheduled for late July as a double header.
The Blue Jays have had a decent road trip thus far despite being swept by the New York Mets, taking three games out of four against the Boston Red Sox and had a solid lead against the Orioles along with their offence providing run support.
The Blue Jays will conclude their series against the Orioles tomorrow, April 13th and then will head home to take on the Atlanta Braves.
