Former Toronto Blue Jays fan favorite relief pitcher Jay Jackson recently stated that he would love to come back to Toronto but that the Blue Jays turned him down.

The Blue Jays still need to fill out their bullpen as it is filled with holes but they have yet to make any real moves apart from a few weeks ago when they signed Yimi Garcia and Josh Walker.

The Blue Jays apparently turned down Jay Jackson as he wanted to return to the Blue Jays

According to a recent report, Blue Jays former relief pitcher Jay Jackson who is currently a free agent had interest in a reunion as he stated he would love to return to Toronto.
Unfortunately for Jackson, despite him being interested in returning to the Blue Jays, he admitted that they have no interest in bringing him back despite the need to add bullpen arms to their roster.
In fact, it appears as though Jackson's love for the team still exists. He recently revealed that he welcomed the opportunity to come back to the Jays.

However, the potential feel-good story of his possible return was shot down when he learned that the Jays had no interest in entertaining such a reunion.

Nevertheless, as the genuine pro that he is, he expressed that he totally respected their decision. -Eng

Jackson is coming off a down year with the Minnesota Twins as he only pitched 26.1 innings last season but finished with a terrible 7.52 ERA which makes him a risk at the age of 37.
Despite a rough season in 2024, Jackson was a solid pitcher for the Blue Jays in 2023 as he finished the season with a 2.12 ERA in 29.2 innings pitched with Toronto that season which is why most believed they would re-sign him but that did not end up happening.
Jackson now remains on the free agent market and as the days continue to go by, the chances of him landing a major league contract at his age with how last season went seem to be getting smaller by the minute.
