Blue Jays seem to be out on trying to sign Bo Bichette to a contract extension
The Blue Jays apparently did not speak to Bichette all off-season about an extension and even despite how he has been playing, it looks like they are not interested in bringing him back.
According to MLB reporter Zach Pressnell, the Blue Jays plan on going all in on trying to keep Guerrero which is why they won't try to keep Bichette which could mean they look to trade him before the deadline.
On Monday, Zach Pressnell of FanSided predicted that the 2025 season would be Bichette's last in Toronto no matter what, with a potential deadline trade on the table if the Blue Jays fall out of the playoff race. -Roberts
There has been zero indication of the Blue Jays being interested in bringing Bichette back since there has been no updates on a contract extension but there is still a slight chance some could get done, especially if Guerrero enters free agency.
"With the Blue Jays expected to chase a mega-contract for Guerrero, it's very unlikely they'll be able to afford Bichette extension," Pressnell wrote. There have been a lot of reports indicating the Blue Jays are trying to extend Guerrero but no reports indicating they're trying to extend Bichette." -Pressnell
It will be interesting to see how everything plays out but hopefully the Blue Jays can at least hold onto to either Bichette or Guerrero this season because losing both of them in free agency would ruin the team.
