Blue Jays pitcher Chris Bassitt sat down with the Talkin' Baseball podcast yesterday and gave his opinion on what has gone wrong this season.
Bassitt pointed out that he believes the biggest error the Blue Jays made was putting too much of an emphasis on trying to make a $700 million offer to Shohei Ohtani and not getting him or anything else.
Chris Bassitt on what went wrong for the Blue Jays this year:
«We put I think $700 million into Shohei Ohtani's basket and didn't get him»
Clearly Basssitt makes a great point since the Blue Jays put all of their focus on trying to sign Ohtani but went it did not happen, they did not have a plan B and ended up only signing what was left in free agency.
