After a tough start to the season for the Blue Jays, key players have been left off the roster due to injury. Jordan Romano, Erik Swanson and Danny Jensen all had to start with AAA Buffalo, and the Jays are hoping they can come back soon and help the team win some games.
Blue Jays could soon welcome back three big pieces to their active roster 👀
Jays Closer
Jordan Romano, who hasn't appeared in a game yet this season due to an elbow injury, is starting his much-anticipated rehab assignment with Triple-A Buffalo on Thursday. He is expected to return to the big club pending a solid start and no irritation to his elbow.

Another player who is in the same boat as Romano is pitcher
Erik Swanson, the 30-year-old right-hander was unable to start the season with the Blue Jays due to a forearm injury. He has begun playing for rehab with Single-A Dunedin. He is expected to pitch with Triple-A Buffalo on Thursday as part of his recovery process, the same day as Romano.
Catcher
Danny Jansen is also showing improvement from a small fracture in his right wrist. Although, his return is not as imminent as Romano and Swanson's, according to Scott Mitchell of TSN, if there are no setbacks, Jansen aims to rejoin the Blue Jays in late April.
Swanson, acquired in a trade that sent Teoscar Hernandez to the Seattle Mariners ahead of the 2023 season, proved to be a reliable asset in the Blue Jays' bullpen last year. He posted a solid 2.97 ERA and struck out 75 batters over 66.2 innings.
Romano's return will be eagerly anticipated, given his stellar performance as the team's closer in recent seasons. The 30-year-old has consistently notched 36 saves in each of the last two years and is projected to maintain similar success in 2024.
Blue Fans are eagerly waiting for some pitching support, as they have been struggling on the mound so far this season. The addition of a good solid bat in Jansen will always be surly welcomed as they also struggle to score runs, two things that are essential to win... obviously.
