The Toronto Blue Jays have yet to make a decision regarding Vladimir Guerrero Jr but it looks like they are willing to listen to trade offers which could interest the New York Mets.
Trade offer announced between the Blue Jays and Mets for Vladimir Guerrero Jr
If the Blue Jays are still unable to sign Guerrero to a contract extension by the start of Spring Training, there is a good chance they end up trying to trade him and the Mets seem to be very interested.
The New York Mets have seemingly moved on from the pursuit of Pete Alonso and could be targeting Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Guerrero, one of the best players in baseball, could be dealt for a haul. The Toronto Blue Jays have not yet come to terms on an extension with Guerrero. They could be open to trading him if they fear he will walk in free agency. -Mohammed
According to MLB reporter Zach D. Rymer, he believes that the Mets could look at a 1-1 trade for Guerrero as they would offer pitcher Brandon Sproat to the Blue Jays in exchange.
<,q>Bleacher Report's Zachary D. Rymer proposed this trade that brings Guerrero to the Mets:
Mets receive: first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Blue Jays receive: right-handed pitcher Brandon Sproat -Mohammed
While Sproat is the Mets to prospect and ranked 40th across the entire MLB, the chances of the Blue Jays accepting this little of a return seems unlikely but if hey package Sproat with a few other players, a deal could certainly get done.
According to MLB Pipeline Sproat is the Mets' top prospect and the No. 40 overall prospect. He could make his debut this season. A one-for-one swap for Guerrero does not seem like a haul, but he will hit free agency next winter. -Mohammed
As Spring Training is set to kickoff on February 18th, the Blue Jays have less than a month to try and get a deal done with Guerrero if not they will have to start looking at offers.
