Severino had a solid season in 2024 as he put up an 11-7 record to go along with a 3.91 ERA and 1161 strike outs in 31 starts for the Mets last season while also going 1-1 with a 3.24 ERA in the 2024 playoffs.
The 30-year-old right-hander went 11-7 with a 3.91 ERA, 1.242 WHIP, 161 strikeouts and a 1.6 WAR across 31 starts for the New York Mets in 2024. He then went 1-1 with a 3.24 ERA and 1.380 WHIP in the playoffs, helping the Mets make a surprise run to the NLCS in the process. -Connon
Many reports have Severino signing a deal worth around $51 million on a 3 year term this off-season, while Sportrac has him signing a 4 year deal worth $85 million this winter.
If the Blue Jays could land him for around $50 million, this would give them a very solid starting pitcher and would allow them to use the rest of their money to fill out other holes in their lineup instead of dumping it all into 1 player.
MLB Trade Rumors predicted Severino would net a three-year, $51 million contract, while The Athletic had him at three years, $50 million. Spotrac calculated his market value to be $85.5 million over four years. -Cconnon
