The Toronto Blue Jays seem to have an interesting plan for pitcher Yariel Rodriguez moving forward as general manager Ross Atkins stated yesterday during his press conference.

Atkins mentioned yesterday that the Blue Jays will be focus on bringing in a solid starting pitcher into their rotation next season which means there will surely be some shuffling around with the current lineup.
When asked about Rodriguez' future with the team, Atkins told reporters that if they bring in a new starting pitcher, he can see Rodriguez being a very solid relief pitcher for Toronto next season.
Ross Atkins called Yariel Rodrguez a «solid option» for the #BlueJays in the rotation and is happy with where his workload is at as a starter, but added:

«If we were to acquire one, I think he would be an exceptional reliever.»
While some fans agreed with this decision to move Rodriguez to the bullpen next season, others did not see this plan working since he is a pitcher who takes a little while to get going which is bad as a relief pitcher.
Rodriguez has been great but usually takes an inning or two to settle in . Does he even watch these games?
Yeah he needs to be moved to the bullpen. He was never able to stretch out to 6 innings even and a starter like that puts too much burden on the bullpen.
However, fans were simply all around disappointed with yesterday's press conference as the Blue Jays front office once again did not answer any real questions and failed to give a solid plan regarding the future.
Oh, Mark Shapiro's press conference? A real masterpiece of mediocrity, but Ross Atkins? Wow, talk about raising the bar of incompetence. The garbage pouring out of his mouth was truly a work of art-if that art was a flaming dumpster. These two puffed-up, self-important buffoons actually have the nerve to act like the Blue Jays didn't just faceplant this season. Accountability? What's that? They clearly think fans are just a bunch of gullible idiots who'll buy into their fantasyland nonsense. It's beyond humiliating that these spineless disasters are steering this once-proud franchise straight into a brick wall.

, seriously, how much longer are you going to let this circus act burn everything to the ground? Clean house. Now. #FireShapiro #FireAtkins #BlueJays
