Ever since New York Yankees SP, Gerrit Cole has come back from injury, he has not looked like himself, but what is going on?

Cole has made 7 starts this season since coming from elbow discomfort and something bad is occurring, he has an ERA well above 5.00 and there is no indication that he is making progress.
Gerrit Cole has a 5.40 ERA through seven starts this season

Gerrit is 6x All-Star and 1-time CY Young award winner, but clearly is not pitching up to anywhere close to those standards as of late. He must still have some discomfort in his elbow, but regardless of what it is, the Yankees need him to turn it around as they are in a tight race for a Wild Card.
