Bregman is coming off of a down year with the Astros but will still be able to go a secure a solid contract this off-season as he is a proven winner and has been consistent at the plate throughout his career.
ESPN insider believes Alex Bregman is a perfect fit for the Blue Jays
The Blue Jays have been looking for permanent third baseman for a few seasons now and ever since the Matt Chapman experiment did not work out, the Blue Jays have been missing a true third baseman.
«He's a proven winner, he's a really good third baseman, he can hit, he would help to lengthen out their lineup,» Olney said. «We know the Blue Jays have been looking to fill the third base spot more permanently for the past couple of years. They made Matt Chapman [an] offer for about $125 million early in the 2023 season, and Bregman fits [the team's needs] in a lot of ways.»
The Blue Jays did have Ernie Clement step up this season as a solid option even earning a Gold Glove finalist nomination but if they end up trading Bo Bichette, most analyst expect Clement to move over to shortstop which would leave third base empty once again.
Bregman could be a solid option for the Blue Jays if he is brought in on a decent contract and they do not end up overpaying.
