Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is looking to have a big season with the Toronto Blue Jays. On Thursday, he made his season debut on Opening Day, and so far, it has proven to be a wholesome afternoon of baseball.

Coming into this season, there has never been more pressure for Guerrero Jr. to succeed. Overall, he is a player who peaked in 2021 with a 48-home run season. However, in 2022, he only managed 32 home runs. In 2023, things got worse for the Blue Jays star as he hit 26 home runs. While one player can't carry a team, fans were looking for a scapegoat after the Blue Jays were eliminated in the Wild Card Round. 2024 marks the beginning of a new season which means Vlad has a fresh start to get back on track. After all, he's only 25.
Today, the Blue Jays are in the midst of playing the Tampa Bay Rays in the Opening Day game. At the time of writing this, the score is 3-1 for the Blue Jays. It has been a solid start to the game, and fans are excited. That said, one of the best moment of the game so far came when Vlad caught a foul ball early in the match. This on its own isn't noteworthy. What is worth talking about, however, is the wholesome interaction he had with a young Rays fan.
"Putout: Vladdy The assist: This fan."
In the video clip above, Vlad Jr. can be seen giving the young kid a fist bump. It was a cool moment, even if it might be a footnote in the broader context of the game itself. Perhaps this could even prove to be a good luck for Guerrero Jr. After the year he had in 2023, he could certainly benefit from that sort of thing.
