Ross Atkins was asked «if resources aren't an issue. Why isn't Vladdy signed?»
FanSided's Zach Presnell Explored this potential proposal of a five player deal that would see Guerrero Jr head to the tigers in exchange for infielder
Colt Keith, infielder
Kevin McGonigle, 2nd baseman
Hao-Yue Lee and right-handed pitcher
Troy Melton.
Disappointment rained down on Blue Jays fans
"Even with such a loaded return, the Blue Jays may not be willing to move Guerrero, but there's still a chance the Tigers can get a deal done," Pressnell wrote.
"If Toronto accepts its fate of losing Guerrero at the end of the 2025 season, it wouldn't be the most shocking move to see them accept a trade similar to the one pitched above." Zach Presnell
"They had their numbers, I had my numbers." Vladimir Guerrero Jr. confirms he and the Blue Jays did not reach an agreement on a contract extension before his Monday-night deadline.
The news became grim in the afternoon hours as Guerrero junior spoke to reporters stating that the deadline he imposed on the organization had passed and could not come to an agreement due to a disagreement in numbers.

Both general manager Ross Atkins and President Mark Shapiro weighed in on yesterday's events and gave a stark contrast that the Blue Jays door remains open for a potential deal to be signed which seemed different than what Guerrero junior had portrayed as he had stated that the Blue Jays will now have to compete with 29 other teams for his services.
Blue Jays missed a huge opportunity to change team direction
Many fans across Blue Jays nation and pundits around the league felt that the Blue Jays had missed a major opportunity to sign one of the best players in the MLB who is still 25 years old and has plenty of upside in his career ahead of him.
«I never got the sense from this front office that it was absolutely crucial to sign Vladdy.»
It seems the landscape in Major League Baseball has changed with the recent signings of
Juan Soto and
Shonei Ohtani that great players of the league will be paid big dollars and that if the Blue Jays want to retain players of this caliber they will need to open up their wallets and spend some money.
The Blue Jays organization will be facing major changes over the next two years as several players will become free agents including their president Mark Shapiro and manager John Schneider who are all up for contract at the end of this season.
Signing Vlady would have been a great step forward which could lead other players like
Bo Bichette to remain with the team long term which is another story for another day.
