The Toronto Blue Jays faced the Minnesota Twins and had future hall of famer pitcher Max Scherzer on the mound to test out his current thumb injury.

Scherzer has been dealing with a thumb injury that has to do with his nerves for the past couple weeks and the Blue Jays have him taking it eassy to hopefully have him ready in time for Opening Day.

Max Scherzer looked very good in four shutout innings versus the Twins, allowing two hits and a walk with four strikeouts. Threw 62 pitches, 47 strikes, topped out at 94.7 mph with his fastball and sat 93.3.

Blue Jays will now wait to see how he recovers tomorrow.
After the game, Scherzer spoke with Shi Davidi stating that he felt great out there today but the real question will be how he feels tomorrow but he is hoping ice and pills will help with the pain.
Max Scherzer was pleased with his outing but is unsure of what it means for his next steps with his thumb.

"As for recovering, I have no idea," he said. "Just got to see how it goes. Do as much as I can with ice and pills and we'll see how it feels."
The good news is that Scherzer looked great out there and was not in pain but it is definetely worrying that he is hoping that ice and pills will help with the pain.
It is hard to believe that if Scherzer continues to pitch his thumb will not end up being an issue down the road this season.
