Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider spoke about the issues the team currently has at the DH spot as no one wants to really play there including Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
The Blue Jays have been wondering who they will place at DH all spring as they seem to be unsure but they see Anthony Santander, Vladimir Guerrero Jr and even Alan Roden.
Blue Jays manager John Schneider stated that apparently Vladimir Guerrero Jr wants not part in playing DH
The top option as of right now seems to be Santander at DH since he is not a great defender and has stated he will play anywhere but Schneider still seems unsure of who he will place there.
During a recent interview, Schneider stated that
Guerrero hates playing DH and wants no part in it especially in the first half of the season which Bo Bichette feels the same way about.
John Schneider on the #BlueJays' DH spot and how some players react to a half-day as DH:
«I know Vlad hates it. He told me he doesn't want to DH until the second half of the season already ... Bo is another one. You guys will probably see us wrestling if I DH him.»
Placing Bichette at DH does not make much sense but
Guerrero on the other hand does since he is not the best defender so it will be interesting to see if they finally get him to bend.
Hopefully finding the right DH does not end up causing any issues withing the Blue Jays clubhouse but since Schneider was joking around about it he probably is not too stressed.
It will be interesting to see who the Blue Jays end up having at DH for the first game of the season this week.
