Scherzer took the mound for the Blue Jays and did not disappoint as he pitched two innings giving up one hit, one earned run and striking out 4 batters.

The Blue Jays new pitcher was also clearly impressed with Alejandro Kirk's framing job as one of the framed pitched even fooled Scherzer.

Scherzer also stated that he was just trying to go out there and not overthink things while also getting adjusted to major league game speed once again after the off-season.

Clearly Scherzer felt comfortable on the mound for Toronto as the only run the Cardinals scored was on a fluke when Joey Loperfido ran into the wall in the first inning.
