The Toronto Blue Jays had a brutal loss the Baltimore Orioles on Opening Day and fans were not pleased with manager John Schneider after he made some interesting comments after the game.
The Blue Jays opened their season against the Orioles in Toronto yesterday afternoon and got taken down quite badly as they ended up losing 12-2 to kick off their 2025 season.
Blue Jays fans not happy with John Schneider after recent comments
After the game, Schneider spoke to the media and was asked about Orioles all-star Tyler O'Neill and how he has hit a homerun in 6 consecutive Opening Day's which Schneider stated was very impressive and that he tipped his hat to the accomplishment.
John Schneider on Tyler O'Neill homering on an MLB-record 6th consecutive Opening Day:
«That's crazy. It's home and road, Canada and US. You tip your hat, man. He likes Opening Day. I'm glad tomorrow's not Opening Day.» #BlueJays
Fans did not take too kindly to these comments from Schneider as they believe this is not the mentality he should have after his team just lost by 10 on Opening Day.
Brothers tipping his cap on Opening Day already? Let's wait till they get shutout over 8 innings by Tomoyuki Sugano before we start doin this again.
Here we go tipping hats to our opponents already game 1
While Schneider is just trying to be respectful to an impressive accomplishment by O'Neill, it is understandable that fans are no pleased since he should be more focused on the brutal loss than how good his opponent was.
