The Toronto Blue Jays 40 man roster is currently full and as they are still looking to sign players, they will need to move some players such as Bo Bichette.

The off-season is drawing to a close but the Blue Jays are still looking to add at least one solid hitter and a starting pitcher to their roster before the start of Spring Training next month.

The Blue Jays looking to free up space of 40 man roster which might include trading Bo Bichette

Recently a report came out stating that Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette has no plan on re-signing with the Blue Jays next off-season as he seems to be looking for a fresh start.
The genesis of this idea is more so based on Bichette living in various trade rumors this past year, along with the unnerving feeling that he wanted to leave the entire time. That notion has escalated in recent days, as MLB insider Bob Nightengale recently claimed that «Bichette is as good as gone [after 2025], with no real interest in returning, friends say». -Rosenthal

Since Bichette does not plan on coming back the smart move would be to use him to free up some roster space to try and land players that can help the team moving forward while Bichette's trade value is still high.
If Nightengale's comments bear any weight, then it would be a wise decision for the Jays to move Bichette as soon as possible while he still has some value right now. -Eng

If the Blue Jays wait too long to trade Bichette there can be a number of bad things that happen such as losing him for nothing if he signs elsewhere in free agency or waiting until the deadline and trading him as a rental for a small return.
he nightmare scenarios for Toronto would include:

Bichette playing through the 2025 season and then leaving via free agency for nothing
Bichette having another underwhelming season, thus verifying his recent regression and decreasing his trade value even more
Bichette getting moved at the deadline as a rental, thus losing some value compared to a year's worth of him -Eng

It seems clear that the Blue Jays need to look at trading Bichette since he does not want to return next season and they can still get a solid return if they do it soon.
