Former Toronto Blue Jays catcher Nick Raposo continues to have a tough time as the Seattle Mariners have DFA'd him as he heads for waivers.

As the off-season comes to a close and free agents continued to get signed most teams are forced to DFA players just as the Blue Jays did with Brett de Geus since every spot on their 40 man roster is occupied.

The Blue Jays acquired Raposo off waivers last season from the St Louis Cardinals after he was DFA'd then the Blue Jays did the same in December in which the Seattle Mariners decided to claim him off waivers.
The Mariners decided to trade for Miles Mastrobuoni from the Chicago Cubs yesterday and to make room for him on their 40 man roster they DFA'd Raposo before he was able to even play a game for them.

The Seattle Mariners designated C Nick Raposo for assignment.
Since Raposo has been DFA'd, he will now head for waivers for the third time in the last year as it has not been an easy ride lately for the former Blue Jays catcher.
There is a chance that he is claimed off waivers but the Mariners likely placed him there since they believe he will clear waivers and they will be able to send him to Triple-A.
