Blue Jays could be interested in White Sox pitcher Garrett Crochet
Crochet is coming off an incredible 2024 campaign when he was moved to the White Sox starting rotation from the bullpen which seems to have been the one good move the White Sox made last season.
The White Sox pitcher ended putting up a 3.58 ERA and 1.07 WHIP in his first season as a starting pitcher and was named an all-star as well as AL Comeback Player of the Year.
After spending all of his MLB career in a relief role prior to this past season, the White Sox had Crochet transition into a starter for 2024. That move turned out to pay huge dividends as he put together an All-Star season in which he posted a stellar 3.58 ERA and 1.07 WHIP over 32 starts. -Eng
The White Sox are currently looking to start an massive rebuild as last season they finished with the worst record in MLB history meaning pretty much every player is available but if the Blue Jays want Crochet, it will come at a cost.
Despite all that, some might argue that a free agent option like Fried could be had without giving up any assets other than money. Whereas to trade for Crochet, the Jays would likely need the sacrifice of some valuable prospects to get it done. -Eng
There are some good free agent pitchers on the market this off-season which the Blue Jays seem to be interested in but if those signings such as Max Fried or Blake Snell do not work out, trading for Crochet could be a great second option.
