After Yariel Rodriguez pitched another masterful game for the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons in his 5th rehab start, it seems that the Toronto Blue Jays are reportedly calling him back up as soon as the weekend.
Yariel Rodriguez looked fantastic in his last start in Triple-A. It sounds like he could receive a start in the big leagues as soon as this weekend.
In his last start for the Bisons, he racked up 10 strikeouts in only 4 innings pitched. The 27-year-old only gave up 3 hits in the process. 10 strikeouts in 4 innings is absolutely insane.
John Schneider said Yariel Rodriguez had a "damn good outing" with Buffalo last night.
His progress is "driving" how Blue Jays next fill Alek Manoah's rotation spot due Sat. "We're viewing him to be pitching on a regular turn and would like for him to start," said Schneider.
The Jays are planning to call up Rodriguez as soon as the weekend, and he has had enough rest to even get his first start back as late as Sunday.
