The Blue Jays have a real chance at the number 1 overall pick in the 2025 MLB draft

The Blue Jays finished last in the American League East with a 74-88 record in 2024 20 games behind the Yankees that finished in the first place in the division and while it was a terrible season in Toronto, there awful effort during the season has been rewarded.

The Blue Jays have the fifth best odds to lands the 1st overall pick in the 2025 MLB draft lottery with a 7.48% of getting it due to having one of the worst record in the MLB during the 2024 season.

The MLB draft lottery will be taking place on December 10th at 5PM ET which fans are circling on their calendar as the Blue Jays have a real chance at landing the first overall pick.

The 2025 MLB draft date has yet to be confirmed but it is expected to be July 13th 2025 as contrary to other professional leagues, the MLB holds their draft during the league's season as players taken in the draft no matter how high do not have a real chance at playing that same year.

If the Blue Jays are able to land the first overall pick, this will not affect their chances of winning or doing better in 2025 but could be huge for the organization's future to get their hands on the best prospect in baseball.
