The Toronto Blue Jays are currently in a tough spot as both Vladimir Guerrero Jr and Bo Bichette are on deals that are expiring which is why it is believed that the team will look to trade one of them.
The Blue Jays will likely be forced to trade either Bo Bichette and Vladimir Guerrero Jr
The Blue Jays have made it clear that they are willing to look at all options to improve their team which is why Guerrero and Bichette's names have been mentioned as the top trade candidates.
In a recent article from Bleacher Report, Guerrero Jr. and fellow free agent-to-be Bo Bichette were listed among the MLB players most likely to be traded. While their presence on the list is unfortunate, it makes sense for Toronto's front office to get assets in return for both players if they don't see a long-term future with either of them. -Courville-Lynch
The biggest question surrounds Guerrero since the Blue Jays were unable to sign him to an extension before the start of Spring Training and now that he has stated he will be entering free agency next off-season which is why trading him might be a likely possibility.
Guerrero, who will be a free agent after the season, wasn't able to agree to a contract extension with the Blue Jays contract before his self-imposed deadline. Toronto will lose Guerrero for nothing if he leaves in free agency, which has led to some hypothesizing on what Guerrero's trade market would look like. -Courville-Lynch
Bichette is another player that the Blue Jays could look to move since he is on an expiring contract and has yet to begin negotiations but since they have been unable to sign Guerrero there is a good chance they make him an offer.
For Bichette, the Houston Astros make a lot of sense after they lost Alex Bregman in free agency, as do the rebuilding Los Angeles Angels, who could make Bichette the face of their new era. -Courville-Lynch
If the Blue Jays are unable to reach an contract extension with either player, it would not make much sense to keep them until the end of the year and simply lose them to free agency next off-season.
