Toronto Blue Jays superstar Vladimir Guerrero Jr is headed into the final year of his contract in 2025 and it looks like the Blue Jays might end up signing him before the season begins.
Blue Jays seem to be ready to make massive $350 million offer to Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
Many have been wondering when and if the Blue Jays will end up signing Guerrero to an extension since the front office since adamant on not discussing details regarding their decision.
However, Bleacher Report insider Kerry Miller believes that the Blue Jays will be putting together an offer that sits around $350 million on a 11 year term which should get signed before the season starts.
"The Blue Jays' refusal to even consider trading away Guerrero ahead of this past summer's deadline was rooted in the hope/belief that it would be able to sign him to a long-term deal before he reaches free agency...But here's an official guess to make this a bit bolder: Six years, $210M ($35M AAV) plus a five-year, $140M ($27M AAV) player option after 2030 for an all-in contract of 11 years, $350M."
While this is a ton of money, Guerrero is still young and clearly is still improving which shows that on this size of a contract, he could end up being underpaid down the line if he ends up being one of the best player in the game and leads the Blue Jays to a World Series.
Hopefully Ross Atkins makes the right decision and signs Guerrero before it is too late.
