The Toronto Blue Jays have been looking for a permanent third baseman for quite a few years now and it looks like Houston Astros Alex Bregman might be a perfect fit.
During the 2023 off-season the Blue Jays reportedly made Matt Chapman a $125 million offer which he refused as he decided to sign a one year deal with the San Francisco Giants which led to him signed an extension worth $150 million this season.
«We know the Blue Jays have been looking to fill the third base spot more permanently for the past couple of years,» ESPN's Buster Olney said recently on TSN1050's First Up. «They made Matt Chapman [an] offer for about $125 million early in the 2023 offseason. Bregman fits [their needs] in a lot of ways.»

Since then, the Blue Jays have been looking to find a permanent third baseman but have yet to find a solution despite Ernie Clement having a great season at third base and earning a Gold Glove finalist nomination.
Bregman, who has spent his entire nine-year career with the Astros, is both a two-time World Series champion and MLB All-Star. He is expected to hit free agency this offseason and would serve as a major pickup on both sides of the ball for whichever team lands him. -Pankiw
Due to how this season went for Bregman, whoever ends up signing him will be taking on certain risks since Bregman's background will definitely get him paid but if he does not turn things around next season, he will definitely not be living up to his new contract.
