The Blue Jays traded a ton of players at the deadline this year, including pitcher Nate Pearson to the Cubs.
Pearson spoke to reporters for the first time since being traded, stating that he knew it was time for both sides to move on since it was just not meant to be. He added that it is nothing that the Blue Jays did, he just needed a change of scenery.

Clearly moving Pearson was the right move for him since he struggled in Toronto this season and his numbers on the mound have improved quite a bit since being traded.
