The Toronto Blue Jays have made a ton of moves regarding their staff this off-season and the latest comes from amateur scouting director Shane Farrell who is leaving Toronto to join the Detroit Tigers.

Farrell has been with the Blue Jays since 2020 as he replaced Steve Sanders who left to join the Pittsburgh Pirates as assistant general manager under Ben Cherington.
Farrell spent the past five years running the Blue Jays' draft, joining the club in January 2020 to replace Steve Sanders, who left the position for a promotion to assistant GM with the Pittsburgh Pirates under Ben Cherington. -Davidi

Some believe that the Blue Jays drafting record over the past few years has struggled under Farrell even though it is still too early to fully assess the players taken under his leadership.
While it's too early to fully assess the drafts he oversaw, the Blue Jays' troubles in drafting and development in recent years have led to an organizational talent deficit, a contributing factor to a dismal 74-88 finish in 2024. -Davidi

Shane Farrell is heading to Detroit to be their new farm director

According to reports, Farrell is headed to the Detroit Tigers to take on a new position as the director of the Tigers farm system. He has decided to leave the Blue Jays but there has been no update if this departure is due to the team wanting to part ways with him as well.
