Terrible news as Toronto Blue Jays George Springer goes down with an injury

The Toronto Blue Jays lost outfielder George Springer during the eighth inning during Saturdays game at Citi Field against the New York Mets.
The play occurred when New York Mets Jesse Winker hit a triple which tied the game and saw Springer collide with the wall which caused him to leave the game.
Schneider updates media on the status of Springer
The 35-year-old went down awkwardly and ran to pick up the ball as two Mets baserunners came around to score on the play. But once he threw the ball towards the infield, Springer went down again and eventually left with Blue Jays trainer Jose Ministral and manager John Schneider. Sportsnet Staff
The Blue Jays had lost the game 3-2 after Mets Francisco Lindor hit a walk off run in the bottom of the ninth. Blue Jays manager John Schneider spoke to the media after the loss and explained that Springer had suffered lower back spasms and that no MRI or any further tests were needed.
Springer will be evaluated on Sunday to see if he is able to play as the Blue Jays will face off for their final game of the series where they have gone down two games to none.
Springer has had hot start this season
Springer has had a strong start to his season as he has had 29 at bats, with 11 hits, one home run five RBI's and has a batting averaging of .379 with an OBP of .455 and an OPS of 1.076.
George Springer knocks one back for his first triple of the season
The Blue Jays, meanwhile, have not found the success they did against the nationals as the Mets have beaten them two straight and look to closeout the series tomorrow with Bowden Francis taking the mound and a win to put their record at 6-4.
The Blue Jays are in tough for the next several games as they will face off against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway after the Mets and then take on the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards.
