The Toronto Blue Jays pitchers have been having a rough go in Spring Training as everyone seems to be going down with injuries as another bullpen pitcher in Zach Pop is now out.
The Blue Jays have been dealing with a lot of issues in their bullpen as multiple pitchers including Ryan Burr and Erik Swanson have gone down over the last week and now Pop as well.
Blue Jays have another pitcher that goes down as Zach Pop is dealing with an elbow injury
The Blue Jays announced this morning that they are shutting
Pop down for at least 7-10 days as he is currently dealing with elbow discomfort which had some inflammation.
The good news is that the Blue Jays had
Popv take an MRI of his elbow and the results came back without any structural damage just inflammation.
Zach Pop had some elbow discomfort recently and while the MRI showed no structural damage, there was some inflammation and he'll shut down from throwing for 7-10 days.
On top of Swanson, that adds to the need for bullpen depth to step up early in 2025. #BlueJays
Zach Pop is shut down from throwing for 7-10 days after he experienced «elbow discomfort» following his last outing said manager John Schneider. An MRI showed no structural damage.
Since the Blue Jays will be shutting down Pop for 7-10 days, this means that he will not be ready for Opening Day so the team will need to lean into the bullpen depth right off the bat with Erik Swanson still out ass well.
Hopefully none of these injuries are too serious but it certainly has been a tough start to the season for the Blue Jays in terms of injuries.
