Toronto Blue Jays top prospect Ricky Tiedemann speaks on when he will return to the mound

Toronto Blue Jays prospect pitcher Ricky Tiedemann had season ending surgery last September and spoke for the first time regarding his recovery during an interview.
Tiedemann was the Blue Jays top prospect last season but since he's injury has fallen off the radar quite a bit as he did not have the season he was hoping for in 2024 prior to the injury.

During a recent interview, Tiedemann spoke on how his recovery process has been going and over the course of the off-season and it looks like he is making some solid progress.
Tiedemann stated that he is feeling great since the surgery but when asked about when he will be back, he stated that he is not setting an exact date because he believes looking too far ahead can cause problems.
«I feel great. I feel brand new again,» Tiedemann said.
«It's always as soon as possible,» Tiedemann said of his return. «I don't have a date set in my mind. It's more how I'm feeling right now. I don't want to look too far ahead. When you look too far ahead, you forget how things are going right now.
«You don't want to do that. You want to take it a day at a time.»

Despite rumbling of him possibly being ready for the end of the season, the same as Alek Manoah who is recovering from the same surgery, it looks like Tiedemann might be aiming for a return only for the 2026 season.
A 2026 return is more likely for Toronto's fourth-ranked prospect, who has dazzled in the minor leagues since being selected by the Blue Jays in the third round of the 2021 draft. -Strong
The good news is that Tiedemann's recovery process seems to be going well but on the other hand he must be starting to feel some pressure since he was drafted in 2021 and has yet to be called up to the majors.
